The Grateful Table dinner is once again coming to Orange County on October 12. This magical dinner under the stars brings together Southern California’s restaurant community for a cause that hits close to home – Restaurants Care. Launched in 2017, Restaurants Care is an emergency fund for restaurants workers facing a hardship. It is a safety net for those who make every dining experience possible.
Of course, a dinner for the restaurant community is bound to have memorable dishes and libations! Below is a sneak peek at what the guest chefs are preparing.
Twilight Reception
Guests will be welcomed to the Centennial Farm at the OC Fair & Event Center with live music, cocktails, and an assortment of flavorful bites developed by Chef Jessenia Hernandez. Following the reception, guests will dine at one large table under a canopy of trees and stars.
First Course
The first course, prepared by Chef Ashley Cramer, is a colorful seasonal gem and chicory salad with citrus, goat brie, honey roasted pepita seeds and chamomile vinaigrette.
Second Course
Chef Laura Reyes from Roy’s is creating a torched citrus cured Hamachi with a roasted Szechuan pepper soy sauce and crisp onions, served in a banana leaves.
Third Course
Chef Devin Peters from Sysco Los Angeles will prepare a flavorful baseball Baseball steak with creamy chimichurri. An assortment of sides including jumbo lump crab mac n cheese, brussel sprouts, and turnip puree, prepared by Chef Kyung Soo Caroll with the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel and Conference Center, will complete the course.
Dessert
The evening will end on a sweet note with curated treats from Executive Pastry Chef Dominique Valenzuela from the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa. Guests will enjoy a liquid nitrogen ice cream station, French macarons, lemon meringue tartlets, assorted bon bons and truffles, cake pops, French eclairs, and profiteroles.
Beverages
Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is taking over the bar with two signature cocktails to start things off. Guests will enjoy select wines from Rodney Strong Vineyards and cold brews from Karl Strauss Brewing Company.
Help us say “yes” to each grant request! By purchasing tickets to The Grateful Table, you are providing a safety net to our restaurant families. We are tremendously grateful to our sponsors: Sysco Los Angeles, the OC Fair & Event Center, FreshPoint Southern California, Visit California, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, Rodney Strong Vineyards, Karl Strauss Brewing Co., and Coca-Cola.
