Force In Training (FIT)

October 24, 2023

Force In Training returns on Tuesday, October 24 at ProStart schools around CA. On one single day, 150 volunteers will help prepare 3,500 ProStart students for their first jobs. Volunteers conduct mock interviews, discuss their career path, and provide basic advice on how students can land that all-important first job.

Sponsorships are $2,500 – $10,000 and provide one-of-a-kind engagement opportunities. Contact Erin at emascho@calrest.org to get started! (It’s super easy!)

How does it work? Sponsors are invited to fill volunteer spots first. We’ll match restaurant leaders with a high school in their local area. Volunteer assignments are 1-hour:

  • 10 – ten minute introduction about who you are, where you work, and career paths at your company
  • 20 – twenty minutes working with students on developing an “elevator pitch”.
  • 30 – thirty minutes of mock-interview practice

Students also receive a series of videos and activities that their teacher presents in October to round out the training.
