Common Questions
Who can I contact if I need help?
Natalie Tong at ntong@calrest.org
Where will I be volunteering?
There are 45+ high schools statewide that will be hosting FIT Day presentations on October 28. Simply add your name and contact information to theschool where you'd like to volunteer. Each site can host a maximum of 4 Wells Fargo volunteers.
What time will I be presenting?
Each school selects a 90-minute block on Oct. 28, between 8:30am-12:30pm. When you sign up for your school, you’ll be able to see what time that site’s training is.
What will I be presenting?
We’ve got you covered! No need to “wing it”. Volunteers will receive a brief virtual volunteer webinar training in early October. We also have a simple volunteer guide for you to print. This guide will outline the points to cover, questions to ask the audience, etc.
Who are these students and why are we presenting to them?
These teens are part of ProStart, a nationally recognized high school culinary arts program. ProStart bridges the gap between education and employment so students have the skills, experiences, and networks to thrive in our industry. During FIT, restaurant volunteers will lead mock interviews and elevator pitches. Then, Wells Fargo volunteers will talk to students about what to do with that first paycheck – financial health basics.
How many students will I be presenting to?
You will receive a calendar invite approximately one week prior to FIT that includes the number of students at your site, parking information, and your onsite contact. The audience size can range from 10 to 200.
Can I bring colleagues with me?
Because volunteers will be visiting public high schools, all volunteers need to be pre-registered with our Foundation.
Can I bring swag or handouts?
Absolutely! We encourage you to bring swag and reward students who participate. Who doesn’t love swag??
