In the wake of the vast fires in California, restaurants are doing what they do best – serving people. We are inspired by the restaurant community’s desire to help.

Many of you have asked what you can do. In response, we’d like to highlight how a couple of restaurants are hosting in-store fundraisers to benefit our restaurant community affected by the fires.  These fundraisers will benefit Restaurants Care, an emergency assistance fund to support restaurant workers. Restaurants are stepping up to support people at the heart of our industry, the people who make every meal possible.

Ways to support restaurant workers affected by the fires:

  • Woodstock’s Pizza will donate 25% of all food and beverage sales from its seven locations on Sunday, October 22 from 10am – 5pm to support restaurant workers affected by the fire. Locations include: San Luis Obispo, Goleta, Chico, San Diego, Davis, Santa Cruz, Pacific Beach.
  • Dan Diegos Euro Cafe and Pub in San Diego is hosting a Pint Night on October 24 + 25Stop by for a special appetizer and beer flight to benefit Restaurants Care.
  • Zephyr Grill & Bar will donate 10% of sales on October 28 + 29 at its two locations in Livermore and Brentwood to support restaurant workers affected by the fires.
  • ChefsGiving has named Restaurants Care as a charitable beneficiary. We invite you and your restaurant to participate in ChefsGiving Week November 13 – 19, a national effort to support temporary and long-term housing in the North Bay for those in need. Restaurants commit to raising $2,500 – $10,000 through special ChefsGiving menus, dedicated menu items or special events. Interested in having your restaurant participate? Sign up here.

Do you know someone who needs help? Grants are currently available for restaurant workers who have been displaced or out of work due to the fires. If you would like to host an event or fundraiser to support restaurant workers, please sign up here.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires, and we’ll continue to offer updates and resources to our restaurant community.
